Ty Cobb

Senior Software Consultant

Ty is former iOS developer pursuing a new life as an anything-developer. His introduction to technology was as an awkward middle-schooler writing BASIC programs for the TI-83+ and exchanging them with his classmates for social capital. Then he pursued an illustration degree for 2 years but decided to graduate with a degree in Computer Science from UIC instead. The rest is history. Having now been in the industry for the better part of a decade, he has developed a unique blend of experience with a variety of different engineering platforms, a strong commitment to process reflection and improvement, and a dash of design sense provided by his art background. He likes DDD, type safety, learning new programming languages, and is currently digging into Rust and Elm. Outside of software, he also likes board games (e.g. Hanabi), grilled cheese, civic tech, privacy, cycling, pickles, guitar, and properly using hyphens to resolve ambiguity.
