Steve's career in technology began with part-time student work as an IT consultant and help desk rep. Following graduation, he briefly worked weekends in a data center and joined a small local software company as a web developer and IT specialist. Steve moved on to work for the University of Notre Dame and spent just under seven years in the Office of Information Technologies there — supporting, developing, and integrating enterprise applications across various departments. During his tenure, Steve contributed to several long-term projects, including the modernization of their legacy faculty information system. Before joining Tandem, he was employed as an application integration engineer in the real estate industry.
Steve specializes in building enterprise software, with extensive experience automating and customizing processes within ERP systems and integrating web applications. His strengths span several technologies, including Ruby on Rails, SQL & PL/SQL, API Design, HTML/CSS, and TDD.
In his free time, Steve can be found playing golf, volleyball, and pickleball socially and for exercise. He also enjoys watching movies, playing games (board, cards, or video!) with friends, and traveling to warmer destinations.
