Jess White

Jess found their way to tech through the humanities: volunteering, teaching, proposal development, and immigration law. Their love of strategic communication led them to software consulting and Tandem’s apprenticeship program. Jess loves working with clients to translate solutions into eloquent code. Jess has been a Tandem team member on projects ranging from enterprise messaging applications to security enhancements for IoT sensors. Jess created a grant writing application in React called Boilerplate that helps nonprofits quickly draft grant proposals. Currently, Jess is working with a Chicago nonprofit to test and implement the application. Outside of writing code, Jess reads space operas, studies German, and volunteers with a local nonprofit assisting refugees in the Chicago area.
