Elena Putt

Junior Design Consultant

Elena believes it is important to understand the people she is designing for and the context of their experiences. At a previous employer as a UX Researcher, she began applying anthropological methods to digital design and technology. Elena’s passion for combining traditional research methods with design began during her undergraduate studies at Purdue where she conducted ethnographic research focused on electronic waste in her local community and the Brazilian Amazon. She worked with a team of designers, engineers, and social scientists to create an installation that enabled visitors to experience and participate in the team’s body of research, Electronic Life Histories. When Elena is not working on design projects or people watching, you might spot her running along the lakefront or eating her favorite buttermilk old fashioned on the Kinzie Street bridge.
