15+ years ago, Alex began his career in software development building websites for small to medium businesses. As client requests became more complex, he knew he had to level up his skills. Alex found Ruby and Rails and never looked back. He graduated from a coding bootcamp in San Francisco, honed his skills working in the fintech industry, and built a career where he's grown in staff, senior, and director-level roles.
Alex is passionate about shipping clean, well-tested, flexible, and extensible code and enjoys mentoring others to do the same. His strengths span several technologies, including Docker, Javascript, and PostgreSQL, and he has extensive experience working on Agile teams.
When he isn't writing code, you can find him cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning, traveling the world, and trying out the newest restaurants.
