Chris Tretola

Client Engagement

Chris’ interest in video games and background in graphic design was the starting point for their career in technology. After learning web development skills and technologies from introductory courses at The Sage Colleges, they joined the New York State Office of the State Comptroller to help update their web products and booklets, making information more accessible and widely available. Chris grew their skills in consulting, training, and mentoring as a development team lead and senior product engineer for a global FinTech company. At Tandem, Chris primarily uses Jira and Confluence for breaking down requirements, MURAL and Figma for mindmapping and workflows, and does some light development work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Chris believes in a human-centered, inclusive approach to break down complex problems and translate those into actionable solutions. He excels at guiding large clients to an accessible and agile mindset, as shown by the rewarding work they’ve been doing on a recent large government project. When not at their desk working, Chris can be found at home playing video games, hanging out with their cat, Bartz, and partnering with their husband, Patrick, to develop their own board and video games.
